The non epa stove has got to go... After reading a lot of good things on this site about ESW I found a new Summers Heat/Englander 30 for $1179. Is this a good price? Also upon looking at the specs on this stove I see that this has a bigger firebox than a Napoleon 1900 that is rated for 2700 cu. feet while the Englander is rated at 2200. Why?

That sounds about reasonable for this time of year. As far as heating capacity goes, its pretty much an arbitrary number. Go by the firebox size, and your knowledge of your house (insulation, drafty, windows, etc.).

Thanks, I have been comparing my old stove with the ESW model on the Cubic foot calcuator and they are pretty close but probably don't eat as much. Definitely time to slay the smoke dragon.

Your gonna get alot more heat for alot less wood with an EPA stove compared to the old dragons.

Sounds like a reasonable price...buy that biggun, then send us pics of it with fire in it.

I've only got 1600 square feet and my 30 is too big. I'm still working on learning to control it. It is a serious heater.
