Englander 49SHCPM corn/pellet settings

I recently purchased an englander 49shcpm stove. I've only burnt pellets in it so far and can't seem to get the heat output I would like. I was hoping by mixing corn with my pellets I would get more heat. I've been burning pellets with my bottom settings at 3-5-1 after reading suggestions from other posts. I'm not getting a real clean burn with that but complete enough that my hopper isn't building up. Any suggestions on what settings to use for a 50/50 corn pellet mix? Thanks!

I've had good luck with about a 25% mix of corn and the bottom numbers at 2-6-1 in pellet mode. Any more corn and it starts developing too many klinkers. In corn mode I've had reasonable luck burning pure corn but never tried mixing in pellets. The stirrer seems to be the key to making the englander work with corn in my limited experience.

I started it up tonight with about 1/3 corn in corn mode with my bottom settings at 3-5-1 which is where I've been burning pellets. The stirrer runs a lot more and moves more each time it runs in corn mode. So far it looks good although I think I might have a somewhat lazy flame. Burn pot is staying clean and appears to have a complete burn though. We'll see what it looks like in the morning. Thanks for the reply!

No problem, I couldn't find much info on burning corn so it's kind of trial and error. I love the heat from the corn but it's definitely more of a mess.

What do you mean by "not getting the heat"? Keep in mind that the CPM has a 265 CFM blower, so the air temperatures coming out of the front of the stove are going to be lower than a similar stove with a smaller blower.

I've burned some corn in my CPM, but found that pellets give me better heat output, and less of a mess. What pellets are you burning?

So I burnt all night with about 1/3 2/3 corn and pellets with my bottom settings on 3-5-1. The burn pot looks good but I still have a fair amount of fly ash and I'm not sure I'm getting any more heat from the added corn than I can get with pellets alone. Not sure it'll be worth the extra mess the corn causes.

I'm burning pro pellets from big r. $200 a ton. They're about the best ones I've found in my area so far

I have the same stove. I'm burning Nature's Own pellets. It's 26 degrees here and 68 inside. Settings are 1-4-2. And heat range 8.
