Englander Dealer/Service

I'm readying to get a jump on next year and looking around for someone to come in and give my '03 55SHP-10 a real good, deep cleaning. It's my first year with it and I'd like a dealer to do my first cleaning while I look over his shoulder so I can take care of it myself next year.

My question is, who do other Englander owners use for maintenance and service? Do you go through Home Depot/Lowes or an independent shop? I tried calling the local shop in my area and since they do not sell Englander products they won't do the maintenance.

Again, I'm going to do this myself in the future, but just want a "pro" to take care of the first one.

Did you try Cozy Barn? Wood Heat? KC Stoves?

I would do your research here and do it yourself, it's not very hard and you will learn more about your stove.

This is going back a bit...but would you still be interested in giving me a hand?

Just for laughs I called Wood Heat, Cozy Barn, etc. and none of them will touch the stove since they don't sell Englanders. I'm not even going to bother with going to and dealing with Depot...since that will only end in total frustration.

You will do a much more thorough job! I did exactly what you were proposing and was frustrated to watch the service tech do nothing more than a basic cleaning, did not get into the blowers at all. I learned the proper steps to perform a true deep clean by others experiences that they shared on this forum.

Rig a 1" piece of vinyl or garden hose to the end of your vac. Duct tape will work. Use it to snake in and clean the chamber behind the impingment plate behind firepot. Particularly the bottom right corner.
