It has happened a few times - we hear a "clunk" and sure enough, the heat exchange baffle has fallen into the fire, covering the burn box. Each time it's happened we have been around and heard it. We typically turn the auger off, wait for it to shut down and cool down and put the baffle back where it belongs. What would happen if we are not around and this happens? Will the stove automatically shut down? Is this a fire hazard?
This stove isn't a big enough stove for our space, so we'll be selling it at the end of this season - but just wondering about this. It also happened with the Enviro insert we had before this, but never with the Whitfields we've had.
Thank you.
