I had issues with my pellet stove going out. After a good cleaning of the entire stove I still had problems. I took a $400 leap of faith and replaced the mother/daughter boards. The stove starts up strong and burns okay for about 10 to 20 minutes , than it seems the pellet feed starts to die down till eventually it stops feeding and shuts down with the #3 light blinking. The stove gets hot enough to kick in the blower fan but doesn't seem to get super hot. The high temp switch stays in the normal in position( no reset pop) I tried to max the auger and combustion feed settings and adjusted the air intake slide all over. Nothing seems to help. Anyone with answers ideas before I give into a service call? The stove is about 8 yes old.

Check your vacuum switch hose

If there was no vac present or hose plugged ect. the stove would not start .
Stove starts but auger stops after about 15 min. POF switch nfg or dirty
remove and clean start stove . If everything normal good if not jump switch
and try again If everything works runs normal replace switch

johneh, you are correct on the POF switch cleaning/change-out. But, while in there with the stove unplugged, check the hose and barb to make sure they are clear and intact....

Hi Maddany, Sorry to hear about your trouble. Is the exhaust blower running normally? When you say you've cleaned her, swept the chimney completely, took out the bricks, cleaned the heat exchanger up top, the ash pan is locked in place, the vac hose is clear, and the exh blower is clean? One last thing, did you remove all sawdust from the hopper? No auger jamming?
If all has been done, could be the auger motor is getting tired, getting hot and cutting out. The POF proof of fire switch (sits above exh blower in same housing) will flash #3 because of low exh temp when stove is shutting down, she gets a cleaning too when exh blower is cleaned. I'd be looking at the auger unit, if exh blower is working normally. The air damper, all the way left then back to the right about 3/8-1/2 inch, adjust with a gauge or visually when flame looks normal. Good luck with her, mine is about the same age, all original but I did upgrade to the new MB/DB multi fuse board, has better operating characteristics than the original single fuse board did.

If the pellet feed is normal through startup, then gradually slows down, wondering also if auger motor collar is tight?? Might be slipping as unit warms up, something to check.

If the # 2 light was blinking then I would say check the vacuum switch. Your symptoms point to a bad auger motor and a worn or dirty bronze auger bearing.
