My ex is looking to live close to one of the lakes in town & I found a cute little cottage/bungalow for rent I saw what looked like a possible chimney for some kind of stove unit, I was really excited that I may have found him a place which may have a stove or something of the sort to boot. Gave him the info & he went to check it out. Mind you I was not there. But he said the pipe went to the basement of which there was what looked like a steel type open fireplace. Also the only way to access this was through the bulkhead.
I wish I could of seen it. Anyway, anyone have a clue what this set up could have been or is?
I am just curious.
Thanks!

Maybe an old cast iron Franklin fireplace?
