I just installed a Breckwell P4000 pellet stove myself. I used a 3 inch exhaust pipe as prescribed by the manufacturer. I have had the stove going about 24 hours and went outside today to check the exhaust. I didn't see any smoke but when I held my hand by the vent the air seemed awful warm/hot - pretty much telling me quite a bit of heat is going outside. I would expect some of this but I guess I was surprised at just how hot the air was coming out the exhaust. Is this normal or have I possibly done something wrong with the venting?
