Fan stopping when pump starts

My Attack has an RK2001AT2 controller, this controller has a temp sensor just above the HX tubes. When the exhaust temp reaches a certain point the controller is in "work mode".

I assume that once this temp is too low (below setpoint) the fan shuts off and "FUEL" is displayed, well now during a cold start once pump launch temp is reached the circulator contacts close and the fan stops, no matter what the stack temp is???????

During boiler burn-out same thing, once the fan stops on it's own and the water temp drops and the circulator turns off, the fan will come back on??????????

Any insight would be greatly appreciated. This has only started to happen, I just wonder if it's a certain set of events (temps) that makes this happen. I've been playing with some of the settings but it still happens from time to time.

Possibly a power supply issue?? Can u test the output without the circ connected. Does the circ work plugged into a separate 120v source and is current draw normal.

Is there any flickering of the display? I'm wondering if this may be related to the capacitor failure we Eko owners have run into with the similar controller used on Eko. It could be that one or more caps inside the controller is weak and when the unit turns on the pump it is causing the fan to stop.
Just thinking out loud here...

do you have an update? seems like a bad situation, when the fan is working against you heating your (storage).

It's definatly a software issue (setting in there somewhere). Mine has the higher voltage cap from the factory, no flickering or otherwise erratic behavior. I think it may be that the stack temp is not high enough when the circulator comes on. I set the stack temp for 230F so I can have some charcoal to start the next fire. It only does this from a cold start.

There is some sequence of events that triggers it, I just need to figure out what and adjust some parameters accordingly.

TS, Our systems are different of course, My pump launch is 150..and return water protection is 140. I set my (stack temp) down to 140 also..? at that point I figure there is no usable btu's left for my system to use, so I want the boiler to shut down and let my slant fin take over. As for starting a new fire, I just accept starting from scratch. I shoot my IR gun on to various parts of my stove pipe and feel 160-220 is acceptable, if over 220 I am playing catch up because of a lack of storage. Quite different than your system, happy new year.

Just wanted to do a follow up.

PROBLEM SOLVED

This only happens when the unit goes into FUEL mode during shut down (all normal). Well if I press the Stop button to acknowledge the FUEL so now I can see the boiler temp displayed. Well.....during the next cold start when I turn the controller back on this happens.

It does not do any abnormal fan shutdowns if I leave the controller alone once it is in FUEL mode, and do not acknowledge until the next fire is lit (the next day).

Glad to hear problem is solved. Would love to have helped but when you posted the problem I knew that if you with your understanding of electronics couldn't solve it my 2 cents would have been worthless.

This is one of the reasons I hate the RK2001 series controller. Since triggering FUEL mode is the result of periodically reaching the max temp you have set, you either have to set it lower than you want, or keep a close watch over the system. I have mine set to the maximum delay time and it still shuts down periodically with a roaring fire, just because it has only come within a degree or so of the set point. Not good. The Attack boiler really doesn't like to idle, especially when it has a full load of wood in full burn. Major puffing. I will be taking it offline as I enhance my system, by adding my own control for both the combustion fan and circulator.
