Question:

Can you use fatwood to help start a fire in a stove (Jotul 8) that has a catalytic converter? Does the fatwood have any oils, etc. that might damage the catalytic converter?



Answer:

Natural wood, such as fatwood, should be fine for starting any stove...including catalytics.
