We are in a second story living space, so talking to local suppliers of the needed materials to install a wood stove in a home I found that the parts are expensive.
I ended up paying the installer $2200.00 to install our wood stove.
We have a metal roof.
He used 2 sections of triple wall, stainless steel exterior pipe, 8 inch.
Above the roof he used some sort of aluminum vent.
In the interior, he used a black pipe, single wall, 8 inch slip pipe so I can slide it up, and clean the piping from the inside.
A couple things that bother me are these.

- Where the piping meets the ceiling in the home, he just has some sort of round, not actually round, metal material that he hand cut out and put around the pipe.. See photo 2., it does not even fit snugly around the pipe..I had thought there would be a square box of metal, that fit between the 24 inch centers and held the pipe in place... but no.
- I think the 3 hours they worked.. and $2200.00 is a LOT of money for the work that was done.. hell, they did not even use a level to plumb the vent pipes...
