Last spring I went to a big box store to buy some 2x8's. It was inside, so I took my Maui Jim sunglasses off to look at the grain ect.
I remember setting them down on the lumber pile. A day after or so I could not find them. I looked everywhere I had been working.
I went back to the store a few times ect. I gave up and bought more sunglasses and used them all last summer. Today, I was installing
a 3/4 inch sharkbite valve into my main water line so I didn't have to use the 50 year old gate valves that barely work and leak. I had to
go into my closed "plumbing toolbox" to get the pipe cutter/sandpaper. Viola! My favorite sunglasses were there! I felt bad now for almost
a year whenever I thought about it. Probably I was thinking of something else when I put them there, and lately if my mind wanders off I lose
track of what I'm doing at that time. It *^%& to have a poor memory.

Edit - they were a gift from my wife. Here is a pic

Even better that they didn’t get beaten up by the plumbing tools in there!

Yes, I could have picked it up and moved it around. There are lots of nasty leftovers in there. I always thought I might
find them under a board at home, but also thought I left them at the lumber store. Life is unpredictable.

I always put keys, wallet and glasses in the same place even if i have to go out of my way to do it. You'll never loose those again if you do the same. My wife puts her stuff down anywhere and everywhere, and askes me multiple times a day, " Do you know where my (Whatever it is this time) is?
Answer - Nope.

My memory is still not too bad. When I talk to my wife about things we did, I can still beat her on the details(sometimes). I always keep my stuff like wallet keys sunglasses ect all in the same spots. I was working outside I think that day, and probably was afraid I'd damage them, so of course I must put them in a safe spot (not the normal spot). It was in the basement storage room, so I took them off to see from working outside. Certainly was a safe spot in a closed toolbox. Anyway..it's like finding $500 in your suit pocket, but much more.

I still have the right answers when I talk to myself so I'm ok so far
