[Hearth.com] Finishing The Fireplace Tiles Tomorrow, Drying Time/Insert Use?

Tomorrow it gets done

I'll burn tonight, then let it cool down & turn on the thermostat tomorrow AM.

How long until I can restart burning ?

Are you setting the tile in thinset? Thinset wants 24 hours to dry. If you dry it to soon, I don't know what that will do to how it will hold up. If you dry concrete to fast, it does not have the strength of normally cured concrete. How long will the tile job take. If you want the best results, follow the direction on the thinset. Good luck.

Yes, we're using thin set. Shoulda mentioned that :-S

For right now, we'll be using the original heatalator grates. I'll see what we can come up with afterwards.

24 hours should be fine... BUT, use modified thinset, and not the pre-mixed stuff in a bucket... that takes forever to dry.

Thanks, Elf..I've been tripping and moving these bags since August :)
