Well, I'm here to tell you that the extra time in the Spring in properly shutting down the Jamestown for the season has paid off. Did a test fire this afternoon to make sure all was ready to go. Gave the stove a look through for any blockages, checked the vent pipe for critters (have had problems in the past with wood wasps), loaded the burn pot with a handful of pellets and a squirt of gel, one match and ten minutes later the auto controls were humming. This year no rattles squeaks or bangs. I let it run for about a half hour and shut it down. Remember, this was a test run, after all the highs are still in the 50's and the lows are only around freezing. Just pleasant sweater weather. This week end it's supposed to get cold and wet. Welcome, Winter...... :-S
