I held off as long as I could but I lit it tonight to make sure all was well before the real heating seasom begins. I will say I forgot the stink from the stove paint I covered the inside with until now

Fired up my AE this morning. 62 degrees in the house. The wife and kids about to wake up. Burned some spruce pointe softwoods for about an hour. I forgot how nice it is!

Hey Hoss, Up there in Maine youll be up and running before most of us I'm Sure.

Opened the XXV ventcap this morning and fired the stove up for about an hour to make
sure all is well. Any longer would have cooked us out of the house for sure.

Still have to finish up the installation on the Advance before it is ready to go.

Well, fired up the Astoria Bay today for about 30 minutes, but only to show the NEW OWNER that it works as advertised....took a deposit, and am waiting to find out when he's coming to pick it up & pay the balance.

I guess an email to Mr Holton is in order now to start ordering my Englander 10-CPM Multi Fuel. :-)

Fire up the stove to take the chill off last night. I forgot how great the stove looks when lit. Looking forward to a cozy winter.

Yes!!
Accuweather shows a downward trend in temps.
Enjoy the heat!

Had my first fire this morning. seems to be working just fine. YEAH! !

first fire already :bug: I try to wait until my teeth are chattering!

New to pellet stove. I've burned about 11 bags, mostly end of last winter. Fired up the stove today to take the chill off. It worked! Practiced running the xxv on stove temp. That seems to work real well on low fan and low temp. Hardly uses any pellets and puts out a low steady heat. Vermont is getting colder.......

I started my stove yesterday 9/11/09 morning to take off the chill in the house. The inside temp was 60 and damp due to the rain.
Fired her up and within about two hours had the house up to 70.
Nice to fell the warmth of the fire.

Fired my stove up for the seasons first burn last night too. Burning through a test bag of Bayou's I bought this summer that looked pretty dusty but they didn't burn half bad. Still need to give my liner a sweep but the stove seems ready to go.

Snow flew today, and guess what.... I gave all my firewood away to make space for the pellets i bought. To bad the pellet stove is not in yet, and the wood stove is still on the flue with out any fuel. I actually had to go in the basement and grab scrap wood to keep warm tonight. Bummer :(

Indeed. snow can just about fly any day of the year besides August. I have seen snow fly as late as mid july, sometimes on the fourth of july, to early september. Not to many years ago we got 18" on the 18th of september. Dont ask me how i remember that lol. Good news is, if its snowing here its snowing on the slopes. Im ready for ski season.

Did you say snow flew today? The middle of September? I'm glad I don't live in Colorado!......
