First Pic's of this years wood

Hello All

I do more reading than I do posting but I'll give it a shot.

Here is my wood that I have moved into my barn for this year.
Its 4.25 cord or for us Michigander a little over 12 face cord

Its a good mix of Ash, Oak, Maple, Ash and did I mention Ash

I will be clearing another spot in the bar for the shoulder season wood. As of now I have a rack on the porch that we just fill.
That is around 1.5 cord of Poplar and Aus

you have room for lots more
3-1/2 - 5 cords for 1 years burning seems to be the average for Michigan.
When is shoulder season for you? I'm burning my primo wood (birch) now. Winter is here !

I have burnt a few nights in the last couple weeks and a few morning fires to take the chill of for my wife and kids.
The crazy thing is last week it was in the 40's yesterday - thur this week its in the 70's and then Friday this week is is supposed to be a high of 52 and rain or snow possible on Halloween.

I guess should season may officially start this Saturday

wish i had that size of an shed to store wood in...very nice stacks...looks like it will be a warm winter ahead

Thanks I like the pole barn also but believe it or not I never seem to have enough room.
I am actually considering building a outdoor wood shed on the back of the barn where all my wood is CSS before it comes into the barn

wdenton, I can relate to the small barn. We put one up a couple years ago and boy oh boy how we wished it were bigger. But, it serves the purpose and I kept on corner that is just for wood stacking. I was stacking 3 cord in there but cut it back this year so we'll see how it is come April or May.

Looks like I should perhaps come and show you how to build the ends.

Backwoods I could definately use some pointers.

Every time I try ends like that they end up falling over.
That is why I used the cheater method and made some scrap wood ends.

Where in Michigan are you
