Hello All,
I just purchased a Fisher grandpa bear fireplace series stove with the barometric draft control on the rear and a top vent. My question after reading some of the history of these stoves is can I remove the internal barometric baffle, weld up the exterior vent and install a new baffle below the top vent and run it like that?

Welcome to the forum;
Yes, that is the recommended modification. If you don't weld one of the outlets shut and use a removable cap, it can be used as a top vent or rear vent as required.
