Hello, I'm looking at buying an older fisher mama bear stove to restore and use in a garage. I'm a new to this and was curious if a stove I found locally was worth the investment. It has some white discoloration on the side and top and wanted to know if it could have been overfired. Does this look like damage to the stove? Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Normal, does not do damage to the stove.

Be aware it's not allowed by code to use a woodstove in a garage
