Helo all! I recently bought a 4 year old home with a gas fireplace. I don't know anything about these at all. There is a pipe stub out in my back yard, and I have no idea how to hook a propane tank up to it. I went to Tractor Supply and looked at their fittings, but nothing seemed to me like it would fit. So I have 2 questions:

1. What do I need between the tank and the house? (high or low pressure regulator, etc.)
2. What kind of fitting will connect to the stub out? (pictured below)

What is the BTU rating for the fireplace? That will determine the sizing
& length of the gas line required...
As far as the fittings go, that looks like a 1/2 Tracpipe connector. A 1/2"
NPT coupling or a 1/2" NPT elbow will thread right onto it. The connection will
require thread compound that is rated for LP gas.
Be careful taking that Tracpipe fitting apart, as there is supposed to be a
split washer inside the female hex to seal the flared end against the male portion.
The split washer goes on the rib adjacent to the flared end of the flexible Stainless
Steel Corrugated gas line...
