Hi there. I'm new to wood stoves and just purchased a Morsø 1125 that I'm hoping to get the most out of as a backup heat source (we will have hydronic radiant heating, but this will supplement during cold months and power outages) for our 925sqft cabin. I have a number of months before we go to install this stove and in the meantime I wanted to do as much as I can to restore it and get it in great shape before we put it to use.

I'm attaching some pictures of the current state. I'd love feedback on what I should focus on fixing up and replacing. Some things that stick out to me:

1. The firebricks on the sides are all cracked. I can't seem to find replacements for this model, but I wonder if folks have advice on generic replacements?

2. There is lots of rust on the interior components and where the enamel has been chipped. Is it worth trying to clean this up? Where should I focus and where should I leave it be? Any tips on enamel touch ups?

3. The back seems like it has seen some repair where the top meets the side corners. Any advice on whether to try and fix this?

4. I'm missing the collar and damper. I think I can get the damper and handle from here https://www.woodmanspartsplus.com/xref/WoodCoal/MorsoStoves/1125 but I'm not seeing the collar. Do I have one custom made or are there sources for a generic alternative?

I'm sure there are other things that folks may notice, so please let me know if you see something that needs addressing.

Lastly, I will be installing this in a living room where I'll need about 12-15' of flue that passes through cathedral ceilings. Any advice on sources for this? Does anyone know where there are powder coated options available?

I have additional pictures, but here are just a few.

It's an oldie but goodie. Fired up, it is a very radiant heater that needs 30" clearance sides and back. It's going to be a challenge to find replacement firebrick, if it exists. This may take casting new on your own using the old ones to cast molds. IIRC the rear firebricks are tabbed and keyed to fit into on another. Not sure about the side bricks. It looks like some of the brick have only one crack. They could probably be cemented together with refractory cement.
