Flue height above chase?

Hello, I am installing a class A flue inside a wooden chase. I am unsure of the height that it needs to extend above the chase? I understand the 3-2-10 rule but am not sure that applies to a chase that is already the highest part of the house. I would rather it be as short as possible

Here is a pic of the chase with the old zero clearance flue that I already removed

This may have answered my question, a diagram from Rock Ford Chimney Supply. Looks like 6" is all that is required above the chase. Can anyone confirm?
