Forest-Master 661 lb. Capacity Ultimate Saw Horse, Log Holder for Chainsaws and Log Splitters.

That is a log holder I saw on Home Depots web site. It looks to be the answer to getting large logs up and out of the dirt in order to saw them. Looks like you just lift the end of the log up and the chain falls down and catches in place in order to hold the log up

That looks sweet if you are getting triax loads at a time! Link did not work for me...how much are they?

Why not just go down the log, sawing each piece almost all the way through, then roll 180 degrees to finish each cut? Picking up logs like that makes my back tired in a hurry.

There are around 120.00. I wanted on to use an old logging saw and not bend over.

Credit due for a clever device.

If I can lift a log that high, I certainly can roll it over with my foot after cutting on one side. Waste of money and back, IMO.

I could see it being nice for hand sawing. If you are using an old crosscut saw then you probably aren't worried about your back .

For sure. Just watch that man lifting that log. No doubt it was one of the lighter logs they could find for making the video. In real life lifting like that will ruin your body, especially your back very quickly. Bending or squatting to cut is a whole lot easier and as stated above, cut part way through a lot then just roll it. Most can be rolled with one foot and for the large logs, a cant hook can not be beat.

I'd like to see him lift a red oak log like that! That honey pine seemed dry as a bone and light as a feather.

Not for me or my back! Junk!

I'll do the tried and true method, cut on the ground and roll with my foot to finish it off.
