Hi, I recently moved into a house that has a Franklin Cast Products C1979 Scandia 180 stove. There are two interior side plates that appear to be disinegrating. Does anyone know what these are made of?

Those are probably cast iron - which may have "grown" a bit due to the years of use.

If it looks exactly like one of these two, you might be able to get replacement parts - in any case you could prob get something to work.

Best bet, if budget allows, would be to upgrade the stove as they were fairly poor units to begin with and 28 years is pushing it. Contact Woodmans (on our products page) - they may actually have the parts listed by YOUR model #, as opposed to the jotul part.

BTW, nice place to live! I keep looking at RE prices near there - middletown, portsmouth....to see if I can ever afford (or want) a beach house.
