Does the fresh air intake really increase efficency like the manual says?????? I would think that it's more work to heat the cold air rather than room temp air?

It may be more efficient since you are not creating a vacuum within the heating envelope to feed the fire. In other words, you are not drawing warm air within the house to fire the stove; and if you are drawing warm air from within the house, that make-up air must come from somewhere, and thats outside, where it is cold. Just like running a bathroom fan or clothes dryer.

Make sense?

I read/heard someplace you could see a 1-2% increase in efficency.
Cold air is more dense so it burns better.
