Front end loader john deer 40 first time user. Need help.

I can't get new to me john deer 40 front end loader on a 445 JD tractor. I understand it should be in a reclined position and standing on the loader and part that hooks to the front bumper. I got it in a position that doesn't stand and the hydraulic hose is too short to recline it and flip it. Sounds confusing, please see picture, hopefully, it helps. Day time picture is how it should be standing. Pictures at night are what I got.

Can you pull the tractor beside it to hook up the hoses and get the loader into position? If I'm explaining it poorly basically can you get the tractor in any position to hook up the lines?

You are explaining perfectly. I was trying to do that parking tractor at the side of loader. But halfway desired position. Hydraulic. Lines becoming too short.

I figured you'd likely tried that but I know I've overlooked the easiest solution.

Other couple options I think would be to make up a couple line extensions to connect them, or use a jack to raise it high enough.

I would position the rear of the tractor at the bucket and chain the far area to a come-along to the tractor rear. [EDIT- Make sure the chain/cable is fastened in such a way that the chain/cable cannot slip from position. ] Winch it up by allowing the tires to stop the sliding motion as the other side lifts, then block it up. You'll have to release the hose pressure by moving the valves or opening the lines.
If you cannot perform this task safely or you think it is risky, hire a wrecker service to lift it.

Thank you guys for advice. Finally did it. I was able to put it on a side. This allowed me to connect lines and open it. after I put it in the desired position I was able to put it up again and was good to go.
