Question:
I HAVE A SITUATION WHERE THE PILOT LIGHT IS LIT IN A GAS LOG FIREPLACE AND THE electric CONTROL SWITCH IS "LIVE" SO EVERYTHING APPEARS TO BE IN WORKING ORDER BUT THE FIRE WILL NOT IGNITE. IS IT POSSIBLE THAT THE CONTROL VALVE IS FAULTY ?
Answer:
More likely the thermocouple or thermopile, but if that is fixed and it still doesn't work, then it could be the valve. An expert service person can actually check the electrical charge put out by the thermocouple in order to assure where the problem lies.
