Hello All, My house (1978) has a masonry wood burning fireplace. There is a keyed gas valve about 1 foot away from the Firebox, which i assumed was for a gas log starter. I would like to install either a gas insert or gas logs into the fireplace but i cannot find the gas line from the gas valve. There is no evidence of there ever being a gas pipe to the firebox, but it seams to me unreasonable that it would have been built with a gas valve and no gas pipe, And then Masonry Sealing it in. Anybody else ever deal with something similar? Any Ideas? [Hearth.com] Gas valve but no log lighter?
