I just got an email from BTEC with this article. (broken link removed to http://biomassthermal.org/news/hydronics2.asp)

I've been planning my system mod to add low return temp protection before the end of summer. Hopefully it will cut down on the creosote buildup (and cleaning frequency) I experienced last year.

Did anyone ever add this to a system that previously didn't have it? Just curious how dramatic/noticeable the improvement was.

Never run one without, but seen pictures and heard of many failures that resulted from not having it.
