I am nearly two tons into my learning curve with BioBricks. I like the product a whole lot. I suggest you start with 5 or 6 bricks. From my experience (and others' comments too) you don't get adequate heat with 3 or 4 bricks. I'd be real cautious about going over 6 until you find how they burn in your stove as they have a lot of energy in a small size and over fire could be a risk. Good luck.....

Anyone know the best place to purchase Biobricks ?? Or is the price set as in no discounts available?
only 1 guy in nj called sos stoves in hackettstown but id call them soon the later in the winter the harder to find.
Well I load up 6 of them about 9:30 and by 4AM they were gone. Threw some kindling in and loaded up the stove with some oak. I'm going to try putting 3 more in tonight.

In the morning I set up my stove with a bunch of them along with an "envirolog" (read: really expensive compressed food grade cardboard log), light it off, and that'll burn in my stove for a good 6 or 7 hours. Mid afternoon, my wife literally just opens the door, pitches in 2 or 3 bricks, closes it and walks away. I come home, scrape the coaling stuff forward, and reload for the night.
They do take some finagling to get just right, but once you have it, they work pretty good.
I started using BioBlocks this year. I like them very much and it is great when I work long days to come home to a warm home. It took awhile to get used to how to dampen them to allow them to burn without smoldering. When Im home I work in my cordwood, but I am on the go a lot with my job, so this BioBlock works great.
They are great! I load up 12-15 at a time in my Mansfield. 12 packed tight with each other with little gaps. The the other three I throw in loose. They do an amazing job and throw some real heat. Many worrie about overfire, but I find that as long as you control the air and you do not have a leaky stove the risk is minimal. It took a while for me to get the guts to load it with as many bricks as I do, but now that I am where I am I could not be happier.
