I received an order of Green Supreme pellets from Lowes. This year, the bag is a dark green and I noticed they are labeled Premium Plus, not just Premium like in previous years with the white bag. Is there any difference or just marketing?
Max BTUs are different. The green bag states it is up to 8,800 BTU (probably softies- or at least a higher percentage of softwood). The white bag, although I can't see it in the picture, is most likely up to 8,400 BTU.

Very good question which I'm wondering about also. HD in Conn. have GS available as of 09/01/2024 for $299.00 ton
Same Premium Plus but Max BTU is 8400. The appearance of the pellets are quite dark in color but from a bit of research color doesn't seem to matter. It use to state on the bag more info like Northern blend but that's not on any of the bags which I've looked at.
Looks like the BTU might be the only difference and 8800 seams better than 8400
On the Lignetics website, they now describe the green, Premium Plus bags as made from sawmill residue. Interestingly, the website does not show any other type of GS - although we all know they are around and I received some MI hardwoods last spring (surprisingly since we normally get the northeast blend around here).
