Ok fellow addicts...it has been a year since we had the BK Princess put in, almost to the day. With a bit of OCD on my part and a lot of guidance from everyone on here we have had a very safe 1st year of heating our home with wood. We decided to have a sweep come out and clean her up a bit...this is what he found, and in his words...keep doing what your doing, there is no reason for me to be here.

Any opinions on his assessment?

not bad but enough i would have swept it.

For a season of heating, especially the first season, that looks excellent.

Well done on getting a pro to double check things. Well done for having said pro have jack-poo to do! (as bholler said, and I'm guessing he did anyway, it never hurts to run the brush through regardless)

Are you going to do your own cleanings from here on out?

bhollar/pen....he said there was no reason for him to do so as there was nothing there that was a threat.....he didn't even charge me...said call me next year

Sprinter....yea I'm one of those diy people but I wanted a pro's opinion. I've looked at the Sooteater and will probably end up going that route after having my sweep out next year...I at least owe him that

I to would have swept but it's a 10 minute job for me.

If you depend on a sweep to check the chimney for you it would be a good idea to go ahead and have it swept annually.

If you can do it yourself, clean as needed.
