Hi,

I am looking at buying a Harman Advance pellet stove used. It was MFG in 1999. See attached picture...burnpot looks weird. Is $500-900 a good deal for this, or is it better to keep an eye out for something else?

Thanks.

Not a bad price, but it’s hard to tell how bad that burnpot actually is. At a minimum, it needs a new Flame Guide, which will cost about $30. It’s a “wear part,” & you can get one on Amazon. You won’t know the condition of the rest of it until you tear into it. If you’re a decent mechanic, with some basic tools, it can probably be rehabbed & give you some more years of quality heat. Lots more parts for Harman stoves are readily available. Your call…
