Well, as posted earlier, I got my P43 up and running last night. It runs beautifully. The only fly in the ointment was the ExcellPellet vent pipe leaks a miniscule amount of smoke. I suspect the 3"-4" adapter as the culprit. At any rate, I sealed all joints only on the outside with clear silicon and problem solved. Hated to have to do it, but probably just me being anal. Some "newness" smell but not too bad. Not anywhere bad enough to open a window. Heat output is very good. Pictured is feed set at 3.5, blower on max. I am using the thermistor 55' away in the living space upstairs. The manual says this is a no-no, but I used Belden 14/2 cable for any possible voltage drop issues and it works perfect.
Stove is in a semi-finished basement. I am using outside air for code clearance from a window.
Overall the P43 is fairly quiet. Certainly quiet enough where it is. There is a barely perceptable vibration noise from the auger. My wife can hear in better than I. I am deaf as a haddock, so no problem for me.
This is my first pellet stove, so I have nothing to compare to, but heat output on 3.5 seems alot. Like other Harmans, the heat radiates from the top and sides. Not just from the blower. After keeping an eye on things today, and assuming no problems, I will allow the stove to run overnight. Mid 30's here today with wind and rain in the forecast so we shall see.
