Has anyone seen this grate or have it?

I have made a few. There a high dollar band-aid for a fireplace but do work........Kinda.

Really they do work? I didn't think it was possible to make fireplaces better (more efficent)
 
That's about half what I paid for my wood stove. :)
 
I have always wondered about that product. I think it would definetely improve a fireplace, but I would be leary about the intense heat in constant contact with the back wall firebricks, and also the increased risk of a chimney fire due to the elevated fire. Maybe just being paranoid.
 
I was over a friends house several years ago and he had one.

Worked rather well!

For a fireplace.
