Hawaii or wood shed?? Which is better??

Yesterday I was on a sandy beach watching the waves, whales, turtles (& bouncing bikinis etc & getting sunburned
Today I'm back home looking at the wood shed.

HAWAII IS ALLOT WARMER ON THE FEET!

Went to Hawaii for a week, Kauai. Some rain but rain at 78°f is different.
All their water is in the liquid state.
Walked for a few miles on the beach, walked around in 4' swimming pools & back is feeling good.
Great place to recuperate.
0°f here when we got back this morning, got 6" of new snow. Not as easy to walk on bare footed :lol:

Rhetorical question for sure. Only spent 3 days over there, but paradise indeed! There are 2 places I've been in my life that are a must return trip for us before we get too old to really enjoy them...Hawaii and Alaska.
Problem is with these places, it's hard to tear yourself away from them to come back home.

ABSOLUTELY I spent 10 days on Maui a few years back. Some of the time on the resort side, and some of the time in Hana (rainforest). I did NOT want to leave. If it were just me and wifey, with no kids, I don't think I would have returned Truely paradise

All items running around on the bEEch are off limits and wOOd only keep you warm, if you had bEEch in your woodshed well lets just say you could keep your whole family warm so I'll go with the woodshed!

I've been to Alaska but never to Hawaii. However, I'd like to go sometime to see it and about this time of year the warm air sounds really great. Also, it is difficult to see any skin on the ladies around here at this time of the year. Yes, Hawaii should have its benefits.

Avg annual temp is 74. May not need fire wood.
Don't need a fire
(maybe to build a fire pit & throw in a pig every now & then) :lol:

Back feeling like I can do stuff now. Walked lots in the sand & it really helped. (more motivation to go walk the beach than walk thru snow,
(maybe I need a treadmill with a big screen TV with other beach walkers, & joggers video on it)

End of Feb thru March are good times,rainy season is ending there, more sunny days. South end of Kauai is the dry side. Mts have over 300" of rain annually. lots of waterfalls.
bro-in-law has a time share thing & invited us.
Air fare mile points helped keep the cost reasonable.

I have never been to Hawaii but I think I still prefer the woodshed. It doesn't snow in Hawaii and I could not live where it doesn't snow.

Spent the week of my 40th birthday on Kauai. Beautiful, peaceful place. Made the haul up the mountain to look down on the Na Pali coast but was socked in with clouds. Could hear the surf crashing though.

Same for us when we were there. Mts were collecting the clouds & it was raining up there almost every day.
Whale watching boats cancelled some trips due to wind & rain on the North end (NaPali coast)

I'd vote woodshed! I spent 3 years in Hawaii (Oahu) and was not that impressed. If you're a haoli (white) and a G.I. they don't want to have much to do with you. They sure like tourists (mostly their money) though.

For the first year and a half I drove around the island counterclockwise and the second half I drove around clockwise.

Yep, money flows one way there. Out of your wallet. Tourist tax on everything you do. (of course that's their economy, "tourism" #1 & military bases)
Great for a visit. Had fun, got some sun & saw some beautiful sites.
Living on Kauai would feel like living on an island after a month or so. (drive in a "U" there, no road all the way around )

I thought this post was gonna be like my "Barn or Disney" conversation that I had with my wife a couple of years ago. I wasn't impressed by Mickey and would rather have built the barn. I was wondering how huge of a wood shed you could build for the cost of a Hawaii trip. A pretty awesome one full of firewood, I bet.

Been to Maui 5 times on business and after the first it started to get a little redundant, always stay in Makena area. Only so many times you can go up the volcano etc... Played golf this year tho, and that was pretty nice. May have to go back next year, so will try to take my clubs if I do.
