Heading over to Woodstock Friday to pick out my new Fire View and bring it home.Little over 3 hour ride each way. Anyone need anything;)?

Have a good trip and be sure to take a tour. Maybe you can see what's brewing in the R&D lab?

Thanks Todd, I'll be sure to see what's going on in the R&D department. For now I'm just going to get it into the house. Have a quick detach bucket on my Kubota, so I'll be using the pallet fork set up I bought to unload my stove and bring it around my house to the back entrance way. A much shorter trip to it's resting place. Still have to get the QuadraFire 5700 tank out. That will heat my garage once that gets finished. Going to get a pallet for the Quad to carry that out to the garage .

+1 on the R & D. Can you see if there is any update on the smaller stove that was mentioned here back a few months ago? Enjoy the trip. Picking up a woodstove when it is near 90 ::F outside. That is good stuff.

Yes , I'll try to remember about the smaller stove. When I was there a few months back they mentioned a no frills stove also. Yeh, going to be hot out and picking up a wood stove, guess I have the wood bug! I still can't get over how nice their stoves are built. They're like owning a car that a mechanic designed,,,, all about super easy service and maintenance. And when something is built and designed like that, it's taken care of and lasts for years with trouble free service. I'm looking forward to owning their product. All the Woodstock owners on here sold me as well. Lots of happy people:).

Just wondering why you are removing a large stove and installing a smaller one? Too much heat? Don't like the old stove?

Oh, and grab me one of those "Progress" thingys.

For the size of the Quad, the heat output is disappointing. It's OK with the blower on, but I hate running the blower. I know now that I should have gotten a radiant stove instead of a convection stove. My Esse cook stove heats the other half of our farm house no problem. I'm betting the Fire View will out heat the Quad. Yes the Quad holds a lot of wood, but you only get heat from the top plate and the front. Kind of disappointing. I think the mass of the Fire View stone will throw out some nice heat. My stoves usually go 24/7 so waiting for the stone to heat up will not be a problem. Besides I think it's a lot better for the stone, etc; to stay warm all the time and not go through all the heating and cooling cycles. I'll see if I have room on my truck for another thingy too;). I tell them it's for a good cause!

I will be interested in the comparison. You will have to start a thread when burn season comes around.

Oh - just tell them that they can donate it to the "Church of Jags". It will be a nice write off for them.>>

You got it Jags! Yes I will let you know what I think. Maybe we'll all have sweaters on this winter and I'll never live it down;hm. Well the good thing I read about the Fire View, is don't let the small size fool you. The main room it will be in is 14 X 30 , then a door way at each end going to a walk through bath into a dining room, and the other door goes to the kitchen, where the Esse is sitting in a room just off the kitchen, which is all open. I think I'll be fine. Someone posted that the earlier Quad 5700's heated a lot better. I had a Country S210 years ago that put out better heat then this Quad, and that was a smaller stove. My wood is fine, I test it with a moisture meter.

Put a bug in their ears for a front-loader with a cat, just a smidge bigger that a Hearthstone Tribute. Something to fit in a fireplace opening. I'll volunteer for testing it.

I want a 3.5 cu. ft. version of the Progress. They can call it "Completion hybrid".

The list is growing;lol. Seriously, I will mention some input here and see what they have to say. I'd like to see the screen fix for the Progress Hybrid, if that issue has been fixed. How fortunate to have a stove company, that acknowledges something that needs attention and takes the bull by the horns! I'll bet most stove companies would just make the change on the following year's stoves. That's another great thing, any mods retro the current stoves. You don't have to buy a new stove to get the new updates. That's "Really Considerate"!

Heck, I want the 4 cu ft version. They can call it the Progross Hybrid.

"Really Considerate"
You've just renamed the PH.;)
It's interesting that you've said the 5700 doesn't put out enough heat. That stove was on my short list for a while.

If you think of it, could you please ask them when the PH cook tops will be in stock? They had said it would be around the end of May, but I'm guessing there was some sort of delay.

Just got back. Jamie sent me pictures of the cook top they are working on. I'll have to just email them to someone who can post them, I can't seem to upload the file, LOL I hate that. Born too early;) I got to see the fine job they are doing first hand. I must say they are creative in fitting everything. Boy do they care about fit! They are working on a middle of the line stove also. I got to see two new screens they are working on for the Hybrid. One goes into place like on the Fire View, sliding over pins with clips. That will have a retrofit plate to adapt to the first run of Hybrids. So again, no one is left out,,, nice! The second screen I was shown I liked. More money , because more screen because of the bends. Check this out. It's bent in such a way that it has two lips opposing each other at the top, the full length of the screen. You simply squeeze the screen push it up into place and release it. It now stays in place. To remove it, squeeze it to bring in the lips and just pull it down. They are afraid the screen you squeeze to remove might be to expensive for people. I said why don't you just post and ask people which one they would like and prices. Boy for the ease of removal and the screen lasting for years, I'd say the difference , what ever it would be , would be worth it. Amazing how they come up with such cool fixes. Everyone was great today, and I was treated great, and given plenty of tips on my new Fire View. The had a Hybrid in the R&D room testing it with the new cook top. Maybe burning some new screens designs in there as well. The cook tops should be out for burning season. They just want to make sure like anything else, you get a nice product, from what I saw, well worth the wait, you'll be happy campers! You can just flip what ever stone up you want and it sits up in a nice little stainless channel at the back. Really neat what they did.Tried to upload the file again. Said it's too large. Sorry.

Any chance you saw a front-loading or top-loading 2 cu.ft. stove in the works?

Thank you, Charly, I appreciate the info. :) I'd love to go to their shop and see everything in person.
