Help! Flue dislodged in old fireplace.

I live in the bottom floor of an old late 1800's brownstone and we think the flue has dislodged. My girlfriend and I are not having any luck fixing it... we are definitely two damsels in the middle of flue distress. Help! I have attached a photo of the flue. Thank you so much for any ideas. Ok, are you using this as a conventional fireplace? And, why do you think it's dislodged?
