Hello
I found a 1/4x20 fine thread (M6-1.0) bolt and a 5/16-24 fine thread flange nut and welded them together to make a “Nut Head Bolt” then screwed them together with lock washers! Works great! Now this old polisher is compatible with the old and new polishing pad kits!!

The Saga continues….
I actually found the old Harbor Freight buffing kit. Same part # 58187 and it has one piece with the 1/4-20 fine thread (M6-1.0) and Velcro which will attach to the new buffing kit. If that piece is not availabke Then welding a Nut-Head-Bolt will work as outlined above. :)
Does anyone have a newer air polisher with the 5/16-24 Shaft or hole for the new buffing kit?

Side note:
The pad attachments above will work with the Home Depot Ryobi Buffing kit too.
I use the applicator pad on the HF Air polisher and the Ryobi buffing pad on the drill to stop the old switcher-ru routine! LOL
