Home Depot outside Phila had about 15 tons stacked inside the home/garden section right next to a big pull up door today.
Stove Chows all wraped up..
Big news is like every where else, the price jumped to 239.00 ton from last season.., 229.00
They couldn't keep a Tractor Trailer load longer than 24 hours after January last winter without selling out.
22 Pallets each time I think.. Did they REALLY need to Increase the price? Greed? or did the supplier[Energex] Increase the price...?
Having burned both last year, they are similar but Chows are in-consistant in size and have a sweeter smell[burned].. As far as heat, no difference.. Ash is plentiful but if u vacuum regular, no biggie..Energex Hardwoods cost me 250.00 ton few months ago on early buy.
I try not to cross the 250.00 ton threshold if possible.
$1,000.00 yr for heat is a Nice round number. 4tons.
Oil was a nice round number too before the stove. $2,000.00.

Try to find some Fireside Ultra's there the equivalent to Energex Canadian's, last winter they were HOT!!, yes the pellets prices are too high, price gouging from last winter, but HD in NH has lowered there price to $219 i've read here

I think it was west lebanon sold them for $219, have no clue where that is in NH

Lebanon NH is across the Connecticut River from White River Vt. along I-89.

HD in Tilton, NH is at $239 for FSU's, last year was $219. They do burn hot, just so-so with ash content. Decent pellets to stay warm for cheap though.

You realize your complaining about 4.4% price increase over last year. Adjusted for inflation 2.7% increase over last year.

I've never met a price increase I haven't argued over.

Did you argue when you got a raise? j/k I could not resist price increases suck but its a fact of life. Maybe pellets will go the way of orange juice and they will start selling them in 38lb bags for the same price.

Fortunately, Stewart's(upstate NY,Vt area dairy supplier/convenience store) and Byrne Dairy both still carry1/2 gallon ice cream. Both are high quality and always get my support.

Meanwhile back at Home Depot...
