Hi,

So, I would like to use my stone fireplace this year! I was told I needed a liner by one and that I didn’t by others. I just want to get some ideas of what holes do what and if it’s safe to use. I’d love to burn some wood. Do I need to know anything special about it? I’ve included some pictures for you to look at. Thanks for your help!

Dave

That looks like an ovalized liner on the insert, but we can't tell if it is just a stub to above the smoke shelf or continuous to the top of the chimney. Ask the person that said it needs a liner that question.

Thanks I’ll do that! Need to get someone else out here though.
