Hot weather brought out the drain flies from basement laundry room from the sink and toilet and slight skanky smell coming from washing machine?

I had to replace the spider arm on my Samsung front loader a few years ago, which meant tearing the entire machine apart. The drum and the drum tub were pretty clean after 10 -14 years of use so i'm pretty confident my system is working well and keeping this washer clean.

There is a good chance the funky small is coming from your rubber door seal. This is very common for machines that do not have their doors left open to fully dry. You tube has videos that show how to clean the rubber boots/seals. It's kind of a PITA which is why we always leave the doors wide open and after 20 years we have never had that problem even in a humid basement environment.

You have a very good point about the door seal but we learned along time ago to leave the door open on a front loader when not in use for that reason.

Just found the best and safest product for the drain pipes to to treat drain and fruit flies.
It is a thicker and more whitish liquid than the regular product.
Also it seems that even though drain flies can come from many places the most common place is the p-trap in all the sink drains, bathtub drains, toilets, floor and washer drains. When the drain flies come out they usually appear above the closest drain they came out of either on the fixture or on the wall above it. So with that knowledge, concentrating on those drain. Therefore pouring the Green Gobler into those p-traps every day for a few days and letting it sit in there for a few hours before flushing it out with hot water seems to be a good approach.

That is good. Do you have a stainless steel drum like our LG?

Yes, But most of the gunk really accumulates on the plastic tub. The backside of the stainless drum was pretty clean.
