Anyone ever add an hour meter to their feed motor to track usage. I'm thinking of adding one and was wondering how accurate it might be to track pellet usage. I have a Harman Hydroflex 60 boiler and it has a 160lb hopper so it goes a couple days in moderate weather. I thought it might be useful to track fuel usage by outside temperature and adding an hour meter seems like the easiest way.

If you put the hour meter on the feed motor you will know how much time it takes to empty your hopper 160 lbs
but you will not know how much heating you did with 160lbs.
Depending on the outside temperature you can do more or less hours with 160lbs but the feed motor will always take the same time to empty your hopper if your pellets are constant
To know the heating time you do with 160 lbs you must connect your hour meter on the combustion motor put your hour meter to zero and fill your hopper 160 lbs and your time will not always be the same because of the change of temperature outside
