how close can a stove be to the wall

I'm adding a wood/coal stove to a room. It has a concrete floor. The walls are framed out of metal studs. There's 1/2 plywood on the walls and 1/2 concrete backer board on top of that and I'm also putting a piece of stailess behind the stove.
Shoul I add spacing behind the backer board before I put that up? Or just space the steel?

It's a old Mill i think the model is OM 85

Any idea how old.... just curious.... What are your current clearances going to be... How far from back wall, side walls, etc. ?

the stove was boughrt brand new in 1987, but has hardly been used the past 12 years or so.

Because it is a steel monster, the clearances most likely need to be big, I can not find any info specific to it.

That worked, but it's not my stove. Mine was a insert, but i'm making it free standing.

I figured it wasn't but that was close. WHOA WAIT ! You are taking an insert and making it free standing ??? Probably not a good idea. The insert was designed to be enclosed in most likely a brick type old style fireplace. IMHO you are asking for trouble using a unit that old without knowing specifics on it, then add to that you are converting an insert to a free standing unit. You are really taking huge risks IMHO. I would be surprised if your insurance company would approve of anything like this set up, god forbid anything happens you are screwed there. Also I am unsure of codes in Telford, but I would be surprised if you will meet code. Add to that the risk of exhausts getting into house, possible clearance issues, etc. etc. etc. I WOULD NOT do what you are looking at doing.

I think i might have to rethink things.
This isn't going into a house, It's actually my mancave/garage. I have pictures of the stove but I can't attach them here. Let me try to attach pics again.

Even worse, most, not all, but most areas a woodstove is NOT allowed in a garage. Seriously I would rethink this.

Because there is a space in the filename, the URLs don't like spaces, so the URL starts with http: and ends at the first space.

Since you use Photobucket, when you look at the picture using Photobucket, you will notice on the right hand side, there is a section to Share the photo. Copy the string in the field labelled "IMG Code" in the body of your message and it should work.
