In addition to camping trips and firewood cutting of course.
This summer I bought a drift boat for floating the rivers.
Mainly we float the N. Platte, just cause its a few miles away.
What a great time i had with this new float boat.
I was a bit bummed today to put it away for the winter.
I took a couple buddies for a float last weekend, the river is almost too low to float.
We had to get out and walk the boat in a few places. We did 15-16 floats this summer.
I will be chomping at the bit for spring and high rolling waters.

Brad

That's a great way to spend your summer! Nice pictures.

Cool boat. Never heard of one before - not too common up here in the NE probably.

Hey thanks for the great pics bfunk...1st I've heard about the Platte R since reading Centennial 30 years ago. But thanks to JM I totally understand about the need for a float boat.

Thanks guys!
The river guides here charge $400.00 per day for two fisherman.
At that rate i've almost paid off the boat already.
It has been a blast. Cant wait for spring.

yeah i like all the trout shown - very cool. Nice pics and nice boat!!

So where are the picture of the trout on the plate for breakfast??

Must be some great fishing up there.
Trout and salmon i would imagine???

Salmon in the rivers and ocean. These pics are lake trout, rainbow and burbot. All 18 minutes from the house. To make this hearth related, I stood by the wood stove when I got home. :cheese:

i ahven't ever seen a trout that fat - around here (too close to the city) the trout are all head. For the most part the limit is three, and even then yu can only feed one person on the trout due to the lack of meat. Don't get me worng, not complaining just ranting, if i have to go fishing 3 or 4 times for a dinner for the four of us - THEN SO BE IT!! Those pics look like one fish could feed a family of four.

Man!
Those are some fat rainbows.
Want some company next summer?
I would love it up there.
