Question:

Perhaps you can help me. I'm trying to find out how many BTU's a human gives off? Let me explain. I live near the beach in Venice and I belong to a group that has an auditorium which can seat about 200 people. When the room is empty its always very cool but when it fills up it becomes to hot for most. So I want to find out how much cool air I will need to blow in to keep the room cool when its full of people. With the amount of heat a normal human generates I can calculate the rest to find out my answer.

Answer:

A human being puts off about 300 BT per hour...so the 200 are producing about 60,000 BT per hour....a nice amount.
