I had a layer of firebricks piled up on top of the secondary feed tube. I had found that it helps warm the air and allows the secondaries to come in earlier in the burn cycle.
This morning I drove to the stove shop and picked up a few feet of Kaowool. I filled in some spaces where there was a bit of leakage around the bricks. Due to the thickness of the kaowool, I had to press a firebrick down into it's spot. The wool still had room to compress, but not much. How much longer will a firebrick get when it's heated?
