how to install 6 inch insulation sleeve for flexible duraliner in a 8 by 12 chimney

Hi,

What is the proper or recommended method to install a piece of duraliner flexible liner wrapped in the insulation sleeve in an 8 inch by 12 inch chimney flu?

The insulation tends to bunch up and it is a very tight fit. Do you attach a rope to the downward end and pull the sleeve and flex pipe down the chimney?

Ovalize the liner, we just did that today. Worked great. I will see if I can find the thread we discusses it and post back.

I would recommend using a board for a one time job. I bought a pre-made ovalizer to use at our shop, which we did today and the liner went down nice and easy.
