My wife liked a plain black Vermont Castings Encore. She called it cute.

So true. It is a complex little booger. I took out the fireback and checked out the cat and refractory. They were mint. Hope I have 4 or 5 years before those go. At that point, this stove will probably be replaced. No rebuild for me because of the parts cost. Just have to find another stove she thinks is cute.

The Atlanta stove has two gaskets and works like a charm. However, she does not think it is cute. It is a toad. Therefore, it is in the basement with the other outcasts like me, my junk, and the critters. But I love it.

I just got the assembly access panel and the gasket kit in the mail today. I should have the Encore back together and installed by next weekend.

If the Encore works out for me it will eventually be replaced with the 2-in-1 encore. Hopefully that won't be for another 5-ish years as well.

Are there really pretty looking stoves, as in irresistable?
I was at the Jotul place at lunch, and there was a real nice looking brown enameled one.

Then there's the backstop: tile, cultured stone, nothing, etc.

I mean, I shudder to think if I have to take dancing classes, learn how to cook, etc, as a tradeoff. Uggh.

Post a picture of your fireplace area and room, and we will show you what irresistable stove you need to put in it! (sometimes we can even photoshop it in!)

Blaze king stoves are absolutely the most pretty stoves you can find.

It does laundry AND heats your home! :lol:

Check out my profile. We've got an enameled brown Jotul Castine installed into an old fireplace and there's a photo of it there. We think it looks pretty sharp, and the stove kicks ass.

Alas, it didn't do the trick (she's sitting next to me, but not viewing).
She doesn't want something that looks like a wood stove, she wants something that looks like a fireplace.
She's been pretty consistant about this for the last 5 years.
She likes the look of the Kozy Heat z42...so....
