I bought a 20 year old Tarm gasifier

Well, maybe I am crazy but I ended up buying this 1987 Tarm 2000 series wood boiler. From what I can see It looks to be the exact same design as the newer models. The boiler was only used for one year, then left tied in to the system with hot water left in it. I looked it over pretty good and did not see any rusty spots in the firebox or water jacket area. Do the contolls look simular to the newer model tarms ? I am going to try to get in hooked up in the milk room of my old cow barn and also add a storage tank set-up in the next couple months. It will replace my old MEMCO wood boiler that is currently in my basement. I hope to save in wood use and also not have to feed it as often.

Was this the Craigslist Tarm?

I f it works you got yourself a deal as the are near 12000 new.

Yeah, this was the craigslist Tarm, But it is not the Same as the Newer Excel 2000 model that has an oil burner in it. This one is from what I can tell exactly the same as the solo models which are like $7500 new. I still think I got a good deal though

Those control panels were the originals, but after we bought the Tarm rights we changed them to a really simple Honeywell setup with a timer. I think they are back with electronics again now.

That panel was used 1986 to 1991.
