Found a 40' tree that came over in a storm a couple years back. It was in the brush and tough to get to, but have been meaning to buck it up for at least two year. Most of the bark is gone. Had a nice odor when I was splitting it. Described it to a friend over the phone who thought cherry. I have a gasification boiler, so I am not particular on what goes in. He told me to hold this off to the side for the 4 or 5 times a year we use the fireplace. Said it gives off a nice smell when burnt. Thoughts?
