I made a traditional sized ash shovel a few years ago that was about 4" wide. It then takes a dozen or more messy scoops to empty my ashes. Now I want to make a shovel as wide and deep as my firebox (Jotul F3CB) to try and get it all in one scoop. I have some sheetmetal and a welder.

Has anybody done this and have any pictures or tips? I thougth I saw a post a couple years ago but can't find it now.
